Inner Thrills is not just a fancy name for my photography website. It’s actually some kind of a concept I have been working on and with, using it in several forms over the last three years. Inner Thrills is, in a very personal way, the closest definition I have for this spark inside me which leads to the creative process. It is also the root of my photography work.
I feel, see or hear something, which deep inside triggers the faintest emotion, leading in the end to a creative production. I was looking for a name for my “lifestyle Inspiration Blog” when I put those two words together. And I just realised how perfect it felt for what I was looking for.
Inner Thrills was originally expressed through a website. A collection of found images of landscapes, fashion, menswear, architecture, interior design, motorcycles, and portrait photography. The idea was designed to create beauty by using various pictures together as you strike two flints to make sparkles. Each chosen image would trigger this inner thrill and would create meaning once stuck against other images. There was absolutely no written text, no legends, no credits. Just images. And, yes, that is a kind of problem when you take images on the internet, it would be nice to say who created them or where do they come from, but with internet as it is today, it is often close to impossible.
I will probably make this collection come back, in a Tumblr with the label “Lifestyle Inspiration”. Someone once told me “I went on your Inner Thrills blog. I have no idea what this is, but it’s beautiful“. And that was exactly what I wanted to achieve. Something beautiful without any kind of information. Images, just images and nothing else.
In the meantime, Inner Thrills names my photography work. on a photography dedicated website and also through innerthrills.tumblr.com Here are displayed snaps from my daily life. What I like, What I do. What Thrills me. Those shots will not appear anywhere else, and it is quite fun to try to create good images quite fast, without thinking too much about it. Just spend 5-10 minutes creating an image, posting and forget about it. For that, I really love Instagram and Tumblr.

Inner Thrills n’est pas qu’un nom sexy pour mon site de photographies. C’est en réalité un genre de concept sur lequel j’ai travaillé, et avec lequel j’ai travaillé sous différentes formes depuis environ trois ans. Inner Thrills est, d’une manière personnelle, la définition la plus proche que j’ai pour cette étincelle en moi, qui mène au processus créatif.
Je ressens, vois ou entend quelque chose, qui, en moi déclenche la plus infime des émotions. Celle-ci menant en bout de ligne à une production créative. Je cherchais un nom pour un blog d’inspiration Lifestyle quand j’ai accroché ces deux mots ensemble. Ils me sont alors apparus comme la parfaite illustration de ce que je recherchais à créer.
Inner Thrills était à l’origine exprimé à travers un site web. Une collection d’images trouvées sur le web. Paysages, Mode, Architecture, Design Intérieur, Motos, et photographie de portraits. L’idée était de créer de la beauté en frottant des images les unes contres les autres comme on frotte des silex pour créer des étincelles. Il n’y avait absolument aucun texte, aucune légende, pas de crédits. Simplement des images. Et oui, c’est un problème quand on prend des images sur le web. Mais dans l’ère moderne du web c’est souvent presque impossible.
Je vais probablement ramener cette collection d’images dans un Tumblr sous son sous-titre original, “Inspirations Lifestyle”. Quelqu’un m’a dit un jour “Je viens d’aller voir ton blog Inner Thrills. Je n’ai aucune idée de ce que c’est, mais c’est beau”. Et ceci était exactement ce à quoi je voulais arriver. Quelque chose de beau, sans explications, sans informations. Juste des images et rien d’autre.
En attendant, Inner Thrills est le nom de mon travail de photographie. Sur un site dédié mais également à travers innerthrills.tumblr.com. Là sont rassemblées des photos de ma vie quotidienne. Ce que j’aime, ce que je fais, ce qui me plait. Ces shots ne seront publiés nulle part ailleurs, et ça me plait beaucoup de créer rapidement des images. Passer 5-10 minutes à créer quelque chose, poster l’image et l’oublier. Pour ça, j’adore Instagram et Tumblr.
